SKIN TREATMENTS
Skinbase Microdermabrasion
The SkinBase Microdermabrasion Facial uses a stream of non-allergenic crystals to remove your skin’s outermost layers of dead cells. Your therapist will use the handset to direct the stream of crystal over the treatment area and, where necessary, target specific zones. The handset then uses a mild suction to draw away the crystal and skin debris to reveal your new and improved complexion.
The SkinBase Microdermabrasion Facial is chemical free and non-invasive yet achieves amazing results revealing younger, healthier looking skin from the very first treatment.
The skin’s appearance is further improved through increased collagen and elastin production as your body produces a new layer of skin.
Dermaplaning
Dermaplaning is a skin treatment that uses an exfoliating blade to skim dead skin cells and hair from your face. Dermaplaning aims to make your skin’s surface smooth, youthful, and radiant. This treatment can help to remove deep scarring from acne and uneven pockmarks on your skin. It’s also used to remove “peach fuzz,” the short, soft hairs on your face. Dermaplaning can be used for any skin type and anyone with: acne scars, dull skin, dry skin, sun-damaged skin and fine wrinkles.
Medical Microneedling
Microneedling is a minimally invasive cosmetic procedure that’s used to treat skin concerns via collagen production. Also known as collagen induction therapy, this treatment may help those looking to reduce the appearance of acne scars and stretch marks. It’s also used in certain anti-aging procedures, such as eyelid surgery and sun spots. Microneedling isn’t effective for hair loss, despite the possible role of collagen in hair growth. You may be an ideal candidate for this procedure if you’re in good health and have certain skin concerns that haven’t responded to home treatments or other types of dermatologic procedures, such as peels. This may also be a final step before considering cosmetic surgery for anti-aging and other concerns.
Chemical Peels
Each chemical peel i offer is tailored to your specific skincare needs. A chemical peel is a solution that’s applied to the skin to help improve skin concerns.
The chemical peel will target dead skin cells and damaged skin from the top layer and promote healthy new cell growth. Chemical peels have proven benefits in the treatment of several skin conditions: acne and acne scars, ingrown hairs, dark spots, melasma and photoaging.
LED Light Therapy
LED stands for light-emitting diode. These lights have been in use since the 1960s, but people have only recently begun to use them as a skin treatment. NASA originally developed LED lights for plant growth experiments in space. However, since then, LEDs have shown promising results in wound healing and human tissue growth. Different wavelengths of light in LED lights, including blue and red, penetrate the skin at different depths. This penetration may trigger biological processes that help the skin rejuvenate and heal.
The blue LED light reduces activity in the sebaceous glands, which are small oil-producing glands in the skin. This reduction in activity causes the glands to produce less oil, possibly improving acne symptoms. Blue light my also kill a type of bacteria that contributes to acne by causing inflammation.
Red LED light may improve scarring and signs of aging, such as wrinkles. It may do this by acting on fibroblasts, which are skin cells that are responsible for collagen production. Collagen is a protein in the skin and other connective tissues. It plays a role in skin healing. The body produces less collagen as a person ages, which causes the skin to show signs of aging. Red light also reduces skin inflammation.
